I'm excited to start a new musical year with you! So far, many of you have set some goals you would like to achieve, either for this semester or the for the coming year. One of those goals may be to perform in a recital. On September 12th, we will be having a small recital at the Liljenquist Home. For those of you who will be performing, best of luck! To those who would like to perform, but aren't quite ready, we will have more opportunities soon.
I look forward to a fun and rewarding year with you!

Week of July 4 - 8
Hello Everyone!
As next week is a holiday week and many people are going out of town, I've decided to take the week off. So, there will not be any lessons next week, including the singing classes on Tuesday. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you, and have a fanstastic Fourth of July!

Group Sing Summer Session
New to our list of musical ventures: Group Singing!
I'm very excited about this, and have been planning it for quite some time now. There are many things I love about singing in a group. For those who are a bit shy, it helps them feel less conspicuous, and will likely sing out a bit more. It's also a good stepping stone to singing solo. Group singing affords fun things like rounds and harmonies. Also, it allows the singer to develop the ear in a different way; to learn to listen to the other voices and blend.
Our lessons are divided into 6-week sessions. Each session has a theme (musical genre, holidays, seasons, cultures, musicals, popular.) In addition to learning pitch, rhythm, intonation, and other musical elements, we will learn songs that reflect our theme. At the end of the 6-week session, we will hold a concert for friends and family.
I'm looking forward to a great summer, and wish you all the same!
Happy Singing!
